CONNECTION
yet you are a glowing node in the web.
You moved to a new city. Your contacts list is hundreds long; only a few are people you could call. Surrounded by people, each one looking at a screen. The first holiday after the divorce. Smile in place, hollow inside.
There is a Buddhist word: dependent origination (pratītyasamutpāda). Nothing in the world stands alone; everything arises through relationship. The endless knot is the visual form of this — every thread crosses every other; pull one, and the whole shape changes.
The deer pair never travel alone. They stand shoulder to shoulder, listening to the same wheel turning. The deepest connection happens not by facing each other, but by facing the same direction together.
You think yourself an island. You are a node in the web — already lit.
Deity of attraction and bonds, holding a lotus bow and arrow. Tara, in her connecting form, weaves karmic threads with kindness.
The interlace of all relationships. Tied at Tibetan weddings: may our karma be like this knot — without beginning, without end.
Doe and stag, side by side. Companionship as the ground of practice. The lover, the partner, the friend — all begin here.
Web of Light — see yourself as one luminous node in an infinite net. Every breath touches another node.
Tie an endless knot by hand and give it to someone whose bond with you you wish to deepen.
Wish one person silent blessing every day — even a stranger on the train.
